"I love to bring beauty into the world by painting.  I am an avid skier and hiker and enjoy finding ethereal beauty when out adventuring. I love to capture the essence of Vermont in oils and watercolors.

Plein air painting (French for open air) is how I create my watercolors. I find fresh spontaneity by painting what my eye directly sees. When traveling I bring my paints to record the natural world.

Oil painting is my other muse. The intensity of the pigments and the fluidity of the medium lends itself to dramatic effects. I prefer my studio for oil painting and create my designs from studies, color theory, and invention.

I was born in Hanover, NH in 1978 and grew up in the Upper Valley Region. Art and skiing were early interests for my twin sister, Saskia and I.

I earned my BFA from the University of Maine. Having seven generations of Mainers before me, going to school there was enriching. The great State of Maine, is big, beautiful, and diverse. This was also the time in my life that I fully mastered the Zen of skiing telemark.

Before graduating I spent 9 months in Florence, Italy studying under Silvia Fossati at Studio Giambo. I was immersed in fresco painting, mosaics, wheel, hand-building, maiolica decoration, and glass fusion.

I have continued painting throughout my career of being an artist. I have completed many commissions; murals, paintings, mosaics, stained glass, and Italian plaster finishes.

Teaching has been a way to give back to people. My sister and I wrote many grants to bring youth mural projects to schools and community centers. I have worked at 7 different art centers teaching a myriad of subjects to all ages from Maine to Hawaii.

I lived in Hawaii for 2 years. Lanai is a rural island, making it an amazing place to live, paint, and fall in love. The lure of changing seasons and our families brought us home to New England. My husband and I bought a ski in ski out condo at Bolton Valley Resort in Vermont.

I have had my Fine Art Studio for seven years, it is located on the back side of Black Cap Coffee on Main Street in Stowe, VT."

Northwood Gallery currently carries a variety of Natasha's work: cards, matted prints, canvas prints, magnets and originals are all available.
