The Mockingbird Foundation is dedicated to broadening access and educational opportunities for young people in music and the musical arts. They have funded over 715 grants in all 50 states, actively supporting communities in need. You can help further their mission by entering to win this Welded Guitar Sculpture.
Alissa is a 17 year old artist out of Essex, Vermont. Eight years ago, when Alissa was just 10 years old, she wanted to weld. So her father Jason found a teacher who helped them both learn; the pair have been making art together ever since. This guitar is one of their largest statement pieces to date. You can see the motorcycle chain in the neck and the timing chain that creates the frame of the guitar body. But those aren’t the only elements upcycled in this stunning sculpture, nearly every piece of this was. Take a look - what else do you recognize? The longer you look at it, the more cool things you’ll see. A truly remarkable piece any art enthusiast would love to have.
